So, you’ve given in and finally agreed to get your child a bike, and they’ve promised to look after it, keep it clean and be good forever. So far, so good. You might have gone online and done a bit of research. So far, so… confused.

Children’s bikes may be smaller, and little ones may not be racking up the miles that adult weekend riders are, but you may be surprised to find that there’s just as much choice out there as you get with adult bikes.

So, how do you begin to narrow it down? Well, the same rules apply in terms of the overwhelming benefits of choosing a thoughtfully-designed, expertly-crafted machine rather than a cheaper, built-not-to-last toy. Our advice is to simply pick a great brand, such as Frog Bikes, and go from there. With an expert brand you know you’re getting something safe, long-lasting, and with research-led design. With each model created specifically for an age group or stage of life, it’s also really easy to find the right one for your child.

Just remember, the age recommendations are largely decided by the bike’s dimensions, so make sure to factor in your child’s height and, most importantly, get them to try it out before buying.
