After several years of taking stock of the state of the market and deciding that it just wasn't convincing, Mondraker developed the NEAT project utilizing an innovative system of motor and battery, more than capable of satisfying the needs of this sector and with which they felt they could identify as riders. Mondraker understood that weight was a key factor for this new platform, but they couldn’t let it compromise the performance of the whole package, the suspension travel or the handling.
Zero Suspension System
ZERO is Mondraker’s proprietary most efficient, best performing and super capable suspension system. ZERO is individually designed, set up and optimised for the best pedalling efficiency and biggest hit capability on each Mondraker full suspension model across the range, from little Factor 24 or F-Play 24 models to Summum Alloy and Summum Carbon World Cup & World Championship winning downhill bikes.
ZERO is a virtual pivot suspension system with an exclusive dual link design. The most unique and exclusive feature of ZERO is that the shock floats between the two suspension links and is compressed from both ends. This makes the rear suspension extremely supple on small bumps and big hit capable, really the most acknowledgeable and astounding feature of every Mondraker full suspension bike.
ZERO superior technologies’ main advantages are Zero power loss -a completely stable ride when pedalling-, Zero pedal kickback-minimum chain growth throughout the suspension travel-, Zero brake jack –isolated braking and suspension forces- and what we call Zero bumps, its great ability to soak up any type of bump keeping the rear wheel efficiently planted on the ground.
ADVANTAGES:
- ZERO POWER LOSS. High pedalling efficiency. The power applied to pedals is transformed to immediate forward motion without any extra compression or extension of the rear shock.
- ZERO PEDAL KICKBACK. Chain length growth throughout the suspension travel is minimum, so pedalling is as effective and efficient as possible.
- ZERO BRAKE JACK. Rear brake forces do not work against suspension forces. The rear shock works supple and freely and absorb impacts without any suspension stiffening caused for the rear brake action.
- ZERO BUMPS. The most remarkable feature of the system is its excellent suppleness on rough terrain and a completely stable ride when pedalling.
Forward Geometry
The advantages of forward geomtry are improved safety and confidence when descending at speed combined with sharper, more direct handling and better tracking; plus, more stability on technical climbs and rough terrain combined with better grip and improved control.
Stealth Carbon
STEALTH CARBON is the most advanced carbon fibre development and optimisation technology in the Mondraker range. This constantly developing technology brings all the experience gained in making aluminium frames to top of the range carbon fibre to meet the same innovation, maximum quality, minimum weight and strength requirements. Carbon fibre layers’ placement is a crucial technique with specific positioning and direction of the different quality fibres for each bike type and model. The result is a frame with the best strength / structural rigidity / trail buzz absorption / lightness ratio, exceptional reliability and a very attractive and unique 100% Mondraker look.
TQ HPR50 Motor
The TQ-HPR50 system comprises a very compact motor, a 360Wh removable internal battery located in the downtube, a 2” display fitted into the top tube and an optional 160Wh range extender. The whole system weighs in at 3.9Kg, 1850g the motor and 1830g the 360Wh battery. The optional TQ range extender weighs 950g.
Unlike the vast majority of ebike motors on the market the TQ-HPR50 uses a proprietary drive system dubbed the “TQ Harmonic Pin-Ring”. Its revolutionary technology does away with the belts and cogs present in other designs, thus ensuring greater reliability and lower noise. The mechanisms within reduce friction to negligible levels ensuring a pedalling sensation very similar to that of a conventional MTB drivetrain while also resulting in it being the quietest motor on the market today.
3 levels of assistance
Combining 3 natural-feeling levels of assistance and running almost silently, the TQ-HPR50 provides up to 300W of power and 50Nm of torque. A multitude of variables will always come into play when talking about range, but a rider of average weight (around 75Kg) can expect to be able to complete a ride of between 3-4 hours, with more than 1000m of altitude gain, switching between ECO and MID modes, and ride anywhere from 40 to 50km. The optional range extender can increase that by up to 50%.
